Jason's Story...
When I was a child I was sexually molested and it really messed me up. By the time I was a teenager I hated myself so much I wanted to commit suicide. That’s when I started drinking to ease the pain. My drinking got so bad I dropped out of school and got my first DUI. Then I tried injecting crystal meth and became a full fledge meth addict. I injected crystal meth 3-5 times a week for about 3 years. I started hearing voices and having hallucinations that got so bad I finally attempted suicide. I ended up homeless on the streets of Dayton.
That’s when I rode the shuttle bus to Target Dayton for breakfast. As I listened to Pastor Mark’s sermon, I realized that if I kept on living the way I was… I would go to hell. The truth of that hit my heart. And I didn’t want to go to hell. I also realized that Jesus died on the cross for me to change my life and save me from going to hell. When the altar call was given I went forward and I asked Jesus to forgive my sins and to come in to my heart and save me.
A huge weight of sin was lifted from me and I have never been the same. I started reading His word and spending time with Him in prayer every morning offering myself daily to Him. Jesus has transformed my life!
My mind was totally fried from all the meth I had used… but Jesus has healed it. The voices and hallucinations have stopped. I have been totally clean and sober for over 13 years now!
Jesus is now my reason for living. I just want to do His will and tell others what He has done for me. By the way… I’m not homeless anymore, I got my GED, I got my driver’s license back, and I drive a bus for Target Dayton. Now every day I help people come to Target Dayton and find Jesus like I did. If you had known me 13 years ago you would not believe I am the same man. And you would believe right… I am not the same man. My life is a miracle of Christ made new by His transforming power.
The Bible says in Mat 19:26, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” My life is living proof that with God all things are possible.”
Thank you for giving to Target Dayton to feed and save the poor. Because you gave… now I’m saved!
